By Wanda Ewing - Chicago’s own Father Michael Pfleger, Pastor of The Faith Community of St. Sabina, and Inspiration 1390 partnered with Pastor Donnie McClurkin in the powerful Perfecting Music Conference. The event was held at St. Sabina August 19th – 21st with informative classes during the day and nightly worship services each evening. Panelists and Moderators for the day classes included: Donald Lawrence, Percy Bady, Percy Gray, Darius Brooks, Gina Miller (Light Records), Veda Brown (Black Gospel Promo), Debra “Snoopy” Hanna (Verity Records), Dennis Cole (Mighty Dominion), Damon Stuart, Marcella Jones (Inspiration 1390 and WKKC), Skip Barrett, Pastor Will Hall, Pastor Phil Jackson, and many more!

Pastors, church choirs, community members, and gospel music industry leaders came together to seal the theme of unity in ministry, music and community. Bishop Larry Trotter and Sweet Holy Spirit Choir, Pastor Smokie Norful and Victory Cathedral Choir, and Pastor Charles Jenkins and Fellowship Baptist Church Choir all attended in huge numbers to show support and share in music ministry during the night services.

Bishop Darrell Hines, Pastor of Christian Faith Fellowship Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin also took time out of his very busy schedule to show his love and support. He shared in music ministry from his brand new and first solo project, “Darrell Hines Live.”

The weekend came to a close with the 3rd Annual Family Peace and Back to School Jam Fest that featured Minister Cinque Cullar and the Peace Jam Choir, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, James Fortune, Brian Courtney Wilson, Maurette Brown Clark, 21:03, Chicago Mass, Joshua’s Troop, New Direction, Joey Woolfalk, Queenie Lenox and others.

The community came out in HUGE numbers. There was free food and the children were given brand new book bags as a gift to prepare them for the new school year.
